This Week:
A bit late for Halloween thanks to the famed technical difficulties (but here for you nonetheless) is this year’s foray into the R5 Central Audio Grindhouse! Instead of doing all the trailers back to back this year, I figured I’d release them one after the other to allow for quicker release onto the net. This year promises to be the most risque and craziest yet with three new fake movie trailers for your listening pleasure, all of them most definitely Not Safe For Work. Be afraid.
This Time ‘Round: Revenge! Scarlet Kunoichi! The story of one Amish woman’s chance at redemption for her infidelities…IN BLOOD!
PRODUCTION NOTES:
-Originally meant for a Halloween release, this has to be one of the craziest ideas I’ve had yet.
-If you didn’t pick up on it, throughout the short there are references to both The Scarlet Letter and The Crucible, made all the better with lesbian ninjas.
-And yes, Anna’s speech at the end is indeed a throwback to Sonny Chiba’s speech in The Bodyguard…
….which was then referenced by Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction…
The irony here? That whole Bible verse doesn’t exist save for one sentence. Either way, I couldn’t resist an homage.
