This Week:
For some reason, the upload for Episode 54 became the Ultraviolet review from The Greatest Movie Ever! podcast. Even after taking out the other mp3 link, it still registers as that episode on iTunes. As such, here’s a re-uploaded Episode 54.
Original Summary – To make up for the lack of actual coverage and content in this year’s Anime Central coverage, Mike takes it upon himself to call upon the destructive cinematic reviewing force of nature that is Paul Chapman, better known as the All-Mighty Goobezilla and host of The Greatest Movie EVER! podcast. The goal, nay, the dream: To dish out a short but sweet review of The Machine Girl, the Tokyo Shock original that Mike unleashed on The Freakin’ Suite at ACen.
PRODUCTION NOTES: (Taken from first upload)
-This was originally going to be a bonus episode but it turned out so well that it was bumped up to proper episode status It works out double so as, seeing as how Wizard World didn’t fall on the anniversary date this year, Otakon will be taking its spot, maintaining the tradition of each anniversary episode in the double numbers (22 being the first year anniversary episode at Wizard World and 44 being the second year).
-Thanks again to Paul for doing this review on such short notice! Here’s hoping we can do a proper GME! tag-team after Otakon.
-The Peter Fernandez audio clip and reference are from the New Line dub of Return of the Street Fighter, starring Sonny Chiba.
-In case you are interested, they’re going to be showing Tokyo Gore Police at Otakon on Saturday night. Yep, I’m going to have to go.

To clarify, “Pulling an Erin” refers to two incidents:
1. In 2007 Erin dragged two dozen friends to see Sukeban Dekka 2006, by the director of Battle Royal 2. Battle Royal 2 had previously ruined a party but not lost me any friends. Sukeban 2006 totally sucked, but my friends thought it was funny.
2. In the summer of 2001 I decided to bring some anime to a party with people I had barely met. Being a n00b, I picked “Grave of the Fireflies”. I was never invited to any parties with those people ever again…
Which made it all the more worthy of being coined as a new phrase!
