EPISODE 45: Don’t Call It A Rebuild….
This Week:
After recovering from the aftermath of the Parsec Awards, Mike and Sylene return with a new episode of R5 that takes a look at Ideon the whole Evangelion franchise.
At the same time, they reveal the truth about the possible rebirth of the Metal Hero franchise, a feud at the Tokyo International Film Festival that made the Kanye/50 Cent record war look like a schoolyard brawl, and what happens when you drink too much Tang.
PRODUCTION NOTES:
-I’m kind of divided about this episode really. It’s our first major review episode but at the same time, I had to rush certain features to focus on getting the Target Scope done. Meh, it’s just like that old saying: The moment you’re satisfied with something you’ve created, you’re dead.
-The voice yelling at us to get on with the show is Villeta who was introduced in the ending of Episode 44.5. As for her helping us..you’ll have to wait and see on that one.
-The bit in the beginning with myself and Sylene is a word for word remake of the Pre-Third Impact Scene from End of Eva. God it was a pain to get the timing down.
-The banner for this episode is a parody of the original poster for End of Eva if you couldn’t figure that out…

Took an extra effort to try and find a background image to match it. I know it could have used more of an orange filter…
-Special thanks to Melissa for being our Rei for this episode
-And no, a full version of me singing “Mama Said Knock You Out” does not exist.
….Tell you what, donate at least 100 bucks to the show and I’ll do it

…..Yeah, never give animators at Sunrise too much beer, they do stuff like that.

Where does that opening song come from cause it sounds so familiar!
Just to clarify for ya, the “G-Force” Disney movie ain’t Gatchaman/G-Force/Battle of the Planets related, I looked it up.
Also, thank you SO much for the Ideon review, I’d started downloading the Shin Getter fansubs last week, started watching it after your review, and I definitely like it.
but yeah. Awesome episode.
I’m liking it a bit better than Evangelion to be honest (I was never too fond of Eva, I’m more of a fan of “hot-blooded” Super Robot series like GaoGaiGar and Gunbuster…
