This Week:
Due to a bit of a scheduling mishap, Episode 51 which was supposed to be released Friday, hasn’t been finished yet. While Mike scrambles around the clock to finish it for your listening pleasure, he has uploaded this in the meantime: His new attempt at the Nico Nico Douga Musical Suite. Be Afraid.
This Week:
Recently, ally in arms, Keith Hayward was something of a lucky bastard. With portable mic in hand, he managed to attend the wrap party and final shooting day for the highly-anticipated series, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Included in this episode of R5, aside from a musical tribute to Kirinji’s 10th Anniversary, are Keith’s take on his sneak peek of the first four episodes along with brief interviews with Matt Mullins and Mark Musashi.
This Week:
Two years ago, a hot blooded youth from the future and his Cyber Assistant started a Japanese Pop Culture podcast that has since evolved into a Giant Flaming Katamari of Epic Chaos ™. This week, Mike, Sylene, and Mai celebrate 50 episodes of the continued run of the GFKoEC that is R5 Central with this Mega Episode to shatter the heavens. So massive, in fact, that it has to be split up into THREE episodes!
Featured in this portion: Short but sweet segments featuring Mike and Card Captor Will going on about Kamen Rider Den-O and later Sylene with the first four episodes of Kamen Rider Kiva. Also, the long-awaited Well Wish Montage, the Pick of the Week…and a quick glimpse at the future after the credits that you can’t afford to miss!
For the April Fool’s episode of Rangercast (which can be heard here), Mike volunteered his services in cooking up a parody promo for a possibility that every fan dreads: “What if 4Kids dubbed Garo?”
….Yeah, I’m getting the jibblies just thinking about it.

Featured in this portion: a follow up review of Sukeban Deka: Codename Asamiya Saki with Erin and Noah from Ninja Consultant, news of a possible Godman sequel, and Daryl Surat. Need I say more on that subject?
This Week:
Last year, Mike challenged CardCaptor Will by daring him to attend the Midwest Fur Fest convention with a microphone on hand to incite chaos. He agreed under the condition that he would be slightly intoxicated for the duration of the outing. Mike agreed. Sadly this is one of the few surviving pieces of audio from that outing. Be afraid.
Figure there’s no better way to start up the celebrations for Episode 50 than by putting up an audio mash up of Will being tipsy and…singing m-flo. Yeah.
They say at the moment of death of your podcast…your life flashes before your eyes. With the new year started and the fact that it’s been a whole month without an episode, I thought “This is it Mike. This is how it ends…”
But it hasn’t. And the show is most definitely still here….
The latest episodes of R5 Central are coming at you soon. Don’t count us out yet.
This Week:
What starts out as a Show on the Run turn into disaster as Mike let slip to Sylene that he forgot to get her a Christmas gift. Can Mike find the ultimate gift with the help of Mai and STILL manage to pull off a Christmas episode? Hilarity ensues. 2007, Color, TV-PG
This Week:
In the homestretch to Episode 50 and to celebrate the holidays, Mike has cooked up a collection of Christmas tunes. Featuring Japanese Christmas classics, both past and present, this mixtape should make for some pleasant ambiance as you tear into those presents on Christmas Morning.
Here at R5, I’m always looking to try and take things a step up from the current status quo…and I think I’ve finally done it. After a long wait, I present to you the official YouTube Channel of all things R5 related: R5 THE LIVE!
While videos will be uploaded there, I’ll be including the vids themselves on the feed for your enjoyment. Hopefully, this will be the start of a trend for me and you’ll be seeing more video entries come time for cons. Maybe even a few Live bits if I can find a connection and means to edit on the go.
Anyways, here’s our first clip which was shot (and almost forgotten about) at Anime Central 07: “Ode to That Guy”.
This Week:
On October 31st, Mike, Sylene, and new co-host Mai, attempted to record an Halloween-themed episode. What occurred was the most terrifying, blood-chilling, most horrible experience ever recorded on a podcast. As a result, this episode was locked and sealed away, never to be heard from again…that was, until now.
Featured in this episode: A look at the Devilman franchise and why you should avoid the 2004 movie like Macross Zero, 8 J-Horror Films To Die For, an all-girl Visual Kei band, and Satanic Care Bears.
